Spices with a saffron edge
Cardamom, nutmeg and saffron lead with a spiced, slightly earthy opening that FragranceGems describes as warm. Saffron can turn metallic or leathery on some skins and smooth on others, so the first few minutes already say a lot about whether this perfume is for you.

Fig, iris and labdanum
The heart pairs fig with iris, labdanum and vetiver. The fig adds a creamy fruitiness, the iris a powdery note and the labdanum a resinous warmth, while vetiver keeps the middle dry. This is the stretch where the perfume moves from spice to something softer and closer to the skin.

Leather, tonka and vanilla
The recorded base holds leather, tonka bean, patchouli and vanilla, a robust and slightly sweet finish. Leather and vanilla together can feel very comforting or a little heavy, depending on you. Smell your skin again later in the evening and decide which of the two you are getting.

How to test it
Apply one spray to the inside of the wrist on a cool evening and note the saffron and cardamom first. Come back to it after a meal, when the fig and iris have had time to appear. Wear it again on a second evening with a scarf or collar close by, because a dense base shows up well on fabric as well as on skin.
Who it is for
A good match if you like warm, spiced perfumes with leather and vanilla underneath and want something for evenings and special occasions. FragranceGems tags it as unisex, strong and suited to autumn and winter. If you usually prefer light, airy perfumes, the sample shows quickly whether this one is too much.

Is Al Noor heavy?
FragranceGems lists the intensity as strong, with a base of leather, tonka bean, patchouli and vanilla. Whether that feels heavy depends on your skin and the weather, so test it on more than one evening.
Why does the saffron matter?
Saffron is the note people most often notice first and also the one that divides opinions. Spraying the decant once shows whether you enjoy its spiced, slightly leathery edge.
Can I test it in the morning?
