Is Imperial a fresh perfume?
Only at first. The citrus top is fresh, while the heart of cumin and nutmeg and the base of amber, cedarwood and moss are warm and earthy. The decant lets you see the whole arc.
What does moss add?
Moss is an earthy, slightly damp note in the base. Next to cedarwood and amber it gives the ending a natural, forest-like depth. Notice whether you enjoy that or find it heavy.
Is it suitable for spring?
FragranceGems lists spring among the seasons for Imperial, next to autumn and winter. Test the decant on a mild spring day to see how the spices behave when it is not cold.
