A boozy cherry opening
Cherry liqueur sits beside cashmere wood, vanilla and oriental notes in the top. FragranceGems says the cherry liqueur gives the start a boozy, exclusive character. On paper the opening is sweet and dark rather than fresh, so judge whether that sweetness suits you before the amber arrives.

Sugarcane and amber
Amber, sugarcane and cedar form the heart. FragranceGems describes the sugarcane as a natural, syrupy sweetness set against dry cedarwood. That pairing is what keeps the centre from being only sweet, and it is the stage where this perfume either convinces you or does not.

Sandalwood, tonka and labdanum
Sandalwood, tonka bean, labdanum and musk make the base. FragranceGems calls it a creamy, velvety finish with a strong presence on skin. Labdanum and tonka bean are the warm, resinous notes, and sandalwood the creamy one.

Does the cherry liqueur make it too sweet?
Sugarcane and vanilla add sweetness, but cedar and sandalwood bring dry wood to the middle and base. FragranceGems tags it gourmand, oriental and woody, so sweetness is part of a mix.
Is it for special occasions only?
FragranceGems tags it for evening and special occasions, not for daytime. You can still wear the sample on any day to learn how it behaves, which is what a decant is for.
Which season suits it?
