Raspberry and Italian bergamot
A raspberry accord and bergamot oil from Italy open the perfume. That is the neon: tart, cool, quick fruit that sparks the first flash of colour before any dark note turns up, and it is what you notice first, a bright opening that sets the mood for the leather.

Spice and flowers
Under the raspberry come Laotian cinnamon, Moroccan orris and osmanthus from China. The cinnamon gives dry warmth, the orris a cool powder and the osmanthus soft flowers, which gives the raspberry a rounder companion than simple wood would.

Leather, oud and vanilla
In the brand's telling, the drydown becomes supple, grained leather joined by oud, vanilla and tonka. Atlas cedarwood and Indonesian patchouli frame it with dry wood, and Madagascan vanilla and Venezuelan tonka bean soften the oud. Here you learn whether you like leather with sweetness.

Maison Crivelli starts every perfume from something its founder actually lived: Thibaud Crivelli sipping hibiscus tea in a gemstone market, finding passion fruit in an oud forest, crossing saffron fields in fog. The independent Paris house turns each scene into an extrait de parfum or an eau de parfum built on a contrast, fruit against oud, flower against leather. Contrasts are personal, which is why a 10 ml decant on your own skin is the place to start.
