A dark, resinous opening
Saffron, labdanum and leather start the perfume on a dark, resinous footing. There is no light citrus to ease you in. Take a moment to see whether this immediate depth attracts you, because everything that follows continues in the same register.

Birch, cade and patchouli
Birch, cade and patchouli add a smoky, earthy layer to the heart and hold the dark tone of the opening. This is the stage where the smokiness is strongest. If you like campfire and tar-like notes, you will enjoy it, and if not, you will know within minutes.

Benzoin, oud, tolu balsam, leather
The base combines benzoin, oud, tolu balsam and leather again. Benzoin and tolu balsam bring a sweet, balsamic warmth to the smoke. The finish is dark but not harsh. Check the next morning how much of it still clings to the fabric.
