This Extrait de Parfum adds pink pepper on top, lime, jasmine and orange flower in the heart, and patchouli, cedarwood and Haitian vetiver below. Pineapple and bergamot
Bergamot and pineapple open it, with pink pepper added to the top. Pineapple gives a juicy, slightly tart fruit, bergamot a bright citrus, and the pepper a dry sparkle. Notice how sweet the pineapple feels on your skin, since that sets the tone for the whole first stage.

Citrus lift, white flowers
The heart swaps the fruit for lime, jasmine and orange flower. Lime keeps a sharp citrus note, jasmine and orange flower add white-floral softness. It is the stage that links the lively start to the drier base, and the one that decides if the perfume feels fresh or perfumey to you.

Wood, patchouli, vetiver

Which concentration does the brand sell?
Only Extrait de Parfum, and the decant is filled from that 100 ml bottle. There is no other concentration of Hacivat X to try.
What is in the sample vial?
A 10 ml decant in a glass spray vial, filled by FragranceGems from the original bottle and labelled by us. It is not an official brand sample, and Nishane is not involved.
Is it a chypre?
The brand describes it as a new interpretation of its earlier perfume that keeps the chypre structure, built on pineapple, bergamot and woods. This page shows the recorded notes.
Does it suit warm weather?
Lime, pineapple and pink pepper keep it lively, while vetiver and patchouli give it enough body for the evening. Testing it in the season you plan to wear it is the simplest way to know.
The brand
About Nishane
Nishane was founded in Istanbul in 2012 by Mert Güzel and Murat Katran, and the name means mark, sign or symbol. Almost everything the house makes is an Extrait de Parfum, and each perfume carries a story: a shadow-theatre character, a line by Rumi, an Anatolian folk song. Several of the favourites now also exist in a reworked X version. Stories and versions are easier to choose between on skin, which is what a few 10 ml decants are for.
