Bergamot, saffron and pink pepper
The opening is bright and spiced: bergamot lifted by saffron and pink pepper. It is the cleanest part of the perfume, and it sets up the warmth to come. On a sample these first minutes show whether the saffron tilts toward elegant or toward sharp on your skin.

A spiced floral heart
Cardamom, jasmine, rose, orris and elemi make up the heart. Cardamom adds a cool spice, jasmine and rose supply flowers, orris brings a powdery note and elemi a resinous one. This is where the perfume turns from bright to sensual, as the brand's description promises.

Vanilla, labdanum and a pheromone accord
The base is long: vanilla beans, cistus labdanum, vetiver, cypriol, sandalwood, musk and the brand's signature pheromone accord. It is dense and warm, with wood and resin under the vanilla. The drydown is where you decide whether the primal, magnetic side the brand mentions is for you.

Wear the decant on a cool evening on clean skin and apply sparingly, as the Extrait is strong. Smell the saffron and pepper first, then the cardamom and flowers, and later the vanilla and woods. Wear it again on another day to see whether the long base still feels comfortable.
