A bold citrus start
Bergamot and citrus fruits start the perfume, and FragranceGems calls the combination spicy, bold and energetic. Citrus in front of saffron and oud can go bright or sharp. The first few minutes on your skin show which direction it takes.

Saffron and spice
Saffron and spices make up the heart and, according to FragranceGems, give the perfume its unique, warm character. The source does not say which spices, so judge the heart by how warm it feels rather than by a list. Saffron smells different on different skins, which is one reason to test.

Amber, oud and vetiver
The base is amber, oud and vetiver, which FragranceGems calls rich. Oud and amber lean dark and resinous, while vetiver adds a dry, earthy edge. A decant is the way to see how much of that you want around you in daily life.

Why try Assaf Risk Comete as a sample first
Saffron, oud and amber together can come across as luxurious or as heavy, and a description cannot settle that. FragranceGems fills the decant from the original bottle and labels it itself, so it is not an official brand sample, and Assaf is not involved. Because the full bottle is big, trying a few days first is a sensible step.

Is Risk Comete heavy because of the oud?
Oud sits in the base with amber and vetiver, and FragranceGems tags the intensity as strong. The citrus on top lightens the start, but how heavy it feels depends on your skin and how much you apply.
Which spices are there besides saffron?
The FragranceGems description names saffron and spices in the heart and does not list the spices. A sample on your skin is the only way to hear how the spiced side comes across.
Can I wear it in summer?
FragranceGems lists summer among its seasons, next to autumn and winter. With a decant you can test a very light application on a warm day and see whether it works for you.

Assaf makes Arabian perfumes with character, a warm oriental signature and, as FragranceGems puts it, a range that runs from elegant daytime scents to rich evening compositions. We have not found a brand site to quote, so this page rests on FragranceGems' own data. Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
