Opening: juniper, pomelo, saffron
Juniper berries and pomelo bring a cool, resinous brightness with a bitter citrus edge, and saffron cuts through it with a dry, warm, slightly metallic spice. The start is clear and quick. If this first impression is too sharp or too strange for you, you will know straight away.

Heart: violet, rose, leather
Black Violet and Cristal Rose, as the brand names them, give a dark, faintly powdery floral side, and the leather accord adds texture and dryness. The saffron stays in the background, which keeps the flowers from turning soft. This is the stage that shapes the character of the whole perfume.

Base: woods, raspberry, vetiver
Blonde woods and vetiver form a dry, earthy floor, and raspberry brings a note of dark fruit that rounds off the edges. The finish is warm and lightly spiced, matching the amber family in which the house files it. Check whether that sweetness is a pleasant surprise on your skin or one note too many.

Is it a warm or a cool perfume?
Mostly warm: saffron, leather and the amber-family finish point that way. The juniper and pomelo at the start are cooler, so the first minutes feel different from the rest.
When should I test it?
In the evening or on a cooler day suits its character best. Wear it a few times in different settings and notice whether the leather and saffron stay interesting or begin to feel heavy.

About Byredo
Byredo was founded in Stockholm in 2006 by Ben Gorham and turns memories and emotions into scent: a dance in Africa, a desert flower, a library, a nomadic life. The Eau de Parfums are built on a small library of raw materials, ambrette, sandalwood, violet, vetiver, and most of them stay transparent and close to the skin. That restraint is exactly why a sample helps: on paper they can seem simple, on skin they settle into something personal.
