Spice and beetroot
Cardamom and ginger come first, aromatic and slightly hot. A beetroot accord sits beside them, bringing a damp, earthy sweetness, and the trio sets a spiced, darkish mood before iris takes over. The start is warm rather than fresh.

The whole idea rests on the iris, and in this perfume it comes across as dark and earthy, not soft. A dry, resinous smoke from the frankincense darkens it further. Picture the root rather than the petal. This stage shows whether you like your iris moody.

Palo santo and vetiver

Is the beetroot noticeable?
It is an accord rather than a sugary note, adding an earthy colour at the start. What remains is spiced iris on top of dry woods.
Is this a soft, powdery iris?
No. Fascent calls it dark and earthy, with cardamom, ginger and frankincense wrapping spice and resin around it.
Is the decant the same Eau de Parfum?
Yes. The vial holds the same Eau de Parfum as the 30 ml bottle, drawn from that original bottle. Fascent has no part in the decanting.

Fascent is a young French house whose first perfumes arrived in 2023, co-founded by Fanny Fortin Descamps and Edwina Réthoré after years at Guerlain, Firmenich, Le Labo and Diptyque. The name fuses 'facets' and 'scent', every perfume is unisex and each one is meant to be worn alone or layered with another. Playful names hide precise, modern formulas: hazelnut milk, fig leaf, beetroot and iris, sea salt. A few 10 ml decants are the easiest way to find your own combination.

Shipping was 5 days to Finland. Customer service was very good. Happy with the product also. Will shop again.
