Bitter orange, then sesame
A sharp, zesty peel clears the way, and sesame gives a toasted, nutty softness just behind it. It is a clean-looking start that prepares the darker resin. Take note of how long this brightness holds on your skin before the oud arrives.

Laos oud and guaiac
Laos oud sits in the heart beside guaiac wood. Oud is dark, woody and resinous, while guaiac adds a smoky, slightly sweet dryness. This is the deepest part of the scent, and the part that tells you whether oud as the lead suits you.

Vanilla and benzoin
The base pairs vanilla with benzoin, a warm balsamic resin that is slightly sticky-sweet, and the vanilla softens it into something creamy. The oud does not disappear here, it only turns rounder. This is also where you can judge how sweet the perfume feels on you.

Les Eaux Primordiales calls itself a manufacture de parfums and means it literally: Arnaud Poulain founded the house in 2015 near Arras in northern France, and everything from the first sketch to the bottling happens on its own wooded estate. The ranges borrow their names from science, Superfluide, Supercritique, Supermassive, and several materials, amber, oud, appear in more than one weight. Samples let you compare those weights before choosing.
