The selection
French Avenue Royal Blend
French Avenue Royal Blend, an Eau de Parfum from French Avenue, has Cognac, Cinnamon, Plum, Iris, Myrrh, Vanilla and others on record. By family it is filed as gourmand, oriental and woody. It is listed for summer. Notes on a list are a map, and what you notice on your own skin is the territory.

BORNTOSTANDOUT Sugar Addict
From BORNTOSTANDOUT comes BORNTOSTANDOUT Sugar Addict, an Eau de Parfum. On paper it lists Sugar, Cinnamon Essence, Cocoa, Coffee Extract, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Absolute and others. It is tagged gourmand, spicy and amber. The listing names autumn and winter as its season. Notice how close it stays to the skin and how much of it others pick up.

Bujairami Ibiza
Bujairami Ibiza is filed as an Eau de Parfum from Bujairami; the note list on record reads Lime, Bergamot, Tropical Fruit, Coconut Milk, White Flowers (Jasmine), White Musk and Tonka. It is tagged citrus, floral and gourmand. For season the tags say summer. What reads as sweet on one person can read as dry on another.

Atralia Elixir
Atralia Elixir is a Parfum by Atralia. The notes on record are Mint, Lavender, Bergamot, Amber, Benzoin, Pineapple and others. By family it is filed as fresh, gourmand and oriental. Season on record: spring, summer and autumn. Your own nose gets used to a scent quickly, so ask someone near you what they notice.

Argos Sacred Flame
From Argos comes Argos Sacred Flame, an Eau de Parfum. On paper it lists Bergamot, Grapefruit, Peach, Tangerine, Ginger, Pepper Tree and others. It is tagged spicy, oriental, woody and floral. The listing names autumn and winter as its season. The opening is the loudest part and the shortest, so let it pass before deciding.

Arabiyat Prestige Aariz L'Absolu
From Arabiyat Prestige comes Arabiyat Prestige Aariz L'Absolu, a Parfum. On paper it lists Almond, Cinnamon, Tree Bark, Mandarin, Amber, Rose and others. The scent families on record: gourmand and oriental. Season on record: autumn and winter. Do not judge it next to other perfumes on the same arm, as they blur each other.

Mykonos California Signature
From Mykonos comes Mykonos California Signature, a Parfum. On paper it lists Mandarin, Lemon, Lavender, Lychee, Aquatic Notes, Rosemary and others. It is tagged aquatic, citrus and woody. Season on record: spring and summer. Clothes hold a scent differently from skin, which makes a scarf or sleeve a useful second test.

Fascent Milky No Way
Fascent Milky No Way, an Eau de Parfum from Fascent, has Black pepper, Hazelnut milk, Whipped cream accord, Tonka bean, Sandalwood, Amber and Cashmere wood on record. By family it is filed as gourmand, woody and amber. Season on record: autumn and winter. A paper strip shows the outline, skin shows the detail.

Also in this selection: Mykonos Enchanted, Street Origins Hanoi Sizzle, Niche Emarati Safeer, Arabiyat Prestige Al Noor, Gissah La Luna Valley, BORNTOSTANDOUT Dirty Heaven, BORNTOSTANDOUT Dirty Milk, Essential Parfums Divine Vanille, French Avenue Liquid Brun Limited Edition, Roja Parfums Isola Blu.
How to test them
Use it the way you would use a full bottle, on a normal day. Apply one or two sprays to clean skin, without other scented products nearby. Leave other perfumes off that day, so nothing interferes. Note what you think each time, and read your notes back at the end of the week.
A decant of 2, 5 or 10 ml lets you wear it on several days before you decide about a full bottle. Two or three samples at a time is plenty; more than that and the impressions blur. A sample is the sensible first step: a perfume on paper and a perfume on skin are rarely the same thing.

Questions
Which sizes do the samples come in?
Every sample comes as 2, 5 or 10 ml in a glass spray vial. The smallest is enough for a first impression, the larger ones for many wearings.
How many samples should I try at once?
Two or three is a good number. Wear one per day, on clean skin, and write down what you notice in the morning and in the evening before you move to the next.
Why do some perfumes show no notes?
Because we only print notes we can trace to a source. Where no note list is on record, the page says so and leaves the judging to your own skin.
