How to test them

Keep the rest of the vial for a second and third try in other weather. Use it the way you would use a full bottle, on a normal day. Spray it on the inside of your wrist or elbow and do not rub. Test it on skin and not only on paper.

Trying it as a sample first means your decision rests on wearing it, not on a description. A sample earns its place when you reach for it again without planning to. A sample is the sensible first step: a perfume on paper and a perfume on skin are rarely the same thing.

Questions

Are these samples made by the brands?

No. They are decants: FragranceGems fills each one from the original bottle into a glass spray vial and labels it. They are not official brand samples.

How many samples should I try at once?

Two or three is a good number. Wear one per day, on clean skin, and write down what you notice in the morning and in the evening before you move to the next.

What is a decant?

Perfume moved from the original bottle into a smaller vial. Ours are filled by FragranceGems into glass spray vials and labelled by us, so you can wear a perfume before you decide on a bottle.
