How to test them

Keep the rest of the vial for a second and third try in other weather. Test it on skin and not only on paper. Use it the way you would use a full bottle, on a normal day. Try it once at home and once outdoors, since air and temperature change the impression.

A decant of 2, 5 or 10 ml lets you wear it on several days before you decide about a full bottle. Give every sample its own day, and come back to the one you keep thinking about. A decant gives you time with it, which a quick spray on a paper strip never does.

Questions

Are these samples made by the brands?

No. They are decants: FragranceGems fills each one from the original bottle into a glass spray vial and labels it. They are not official brand samples.

How many samples should I try at once?

Two or three is a good number. Wear one per day, on clean skin, and write down what you notice in the morning and in the evening before you move to the next.

What is a decant?

Perfume moved from the original bottle into a smaller vial. Ours are filled by FragranceGems into glass spray vials and labelled by us, so you can wear a perfume before you decide on a bottle.
